Time(s)All Day
Booking Cut Off: available to book until 11/11/2022 at 5pm
Schedule: Allow at least 3.5 hours driving from Farnborough to the river location. Arrival at the river should be around 9am, so anticipate a very early start in the morning (or alternatively plan your own accommodation the night before!). We shall be on the water all day, so don’t anticipate being off until at around 2/3pm.
Type: Beginner/Intermediate White Water
Suitability: Confident with Capsizing with a Spray Deck
Description: Come and join us for a day at the river Barle! This is an ideal follow-on trip for paddlers having done a moving water taster or the Yat or anyone wanting to refresh skills. So come and enjoy a day on the river in fab scenery, the River Barle runs from northern Exmoor (Somerset) south to join the River Exe. It’s pretty and drains the opposite side of the hill from the much harder River Lyn. As always depending on water and weather conditions we may choose another river or postpone the trip at short notice.
Food: Please arrange your own food for the day and plenty of drinks, and ideally a sealed tub and dry bag to transport your lunches in.
Kit/Equipment Hire: Equipment is always available for use at official club activities however there is no equipment stored onsite for these events, so if you require to equipment please complete a hire request. We highly recommend where possible that you are able to transport your own kit, however understand not everyone has a van or roof rack especially those new to the sport, if this is the case ensure you fill in your request soon as possible. Equipment should be collected at the Wednesday Mixed/Open (pool, lido, canal) Session before the event and returned the following Wednesday after. You can read more about our equipment, hire and usage here.
