Weekly Sessions

Our club members have a regular meeting each Wednesday evening at either our Summer Venue, Aldershot Lido or at our winter venue, currently the Scout Hut in Tongham. Summer Sessions begin from May to November & Winter sessions between December & April.  New Paddlers are welcome to try the club, by joining us on a Wednesday.

Polo

Our Polo team have sessions held at Alton on Wednesday’s over the winter.  During the summer polo will be held at the Lido on Wednesday’s and Alton on Friday’s. All are welcome regardless of ability or previous experience. The sessions are effectively being split into two so that all abilities can be catered for. Timimgs between 08.30pm – 10.00pm every Wednesday evening and it costs £7.

During the Summer…

We paddle on the Aldershot lido. Paddling starts at 7pm (prompt for courses) and goes on until 8.30pm, provided there is reasonable light. As the evenings draw in, the get off time is restricted to 8pm.

Activities in the Lido includes free paddling & coaching for those that wish to develop their skills. We even have our own Polo team who train in their own heated pool in Alton. More details found above. Location details can be found Here.

After the paddling session, we have a briefing from our committee about club news, trips & events. The club has a range of equipment & boats avaliable for hire at a very reasonable rate for new paddlers, although most members do infact tend to bring their own boats & equipment.

In the Winter…

We locate ourselves inside the Scout Hut in Tongham, where it is nice & warm. It’s a £1 per session which covers the cost of hiring the room as well as a cup of tea and a biscuit each. Location details can be found Here.

However when the Sun decides to set later, we tend to use the canal at the centre’s doorstep to paddle on. We don’t just paddle here though. Some of our sessions may take place on a local weir or another strecth of river local to us. Best place to find out where we are likely to be is the Forum or the Events Page. While we are paddling over the winter, it is possible to hire club kit. However adequate warning will be required to accommodate this. Again use the contact links on the site.

The Pool session prices are below. It is the same cost if you are or are not yet a club member.

We do hire club equipment out to members on club trips that may not have the appropriate club equipment.

Indoor Pool Sessions

We try to have a few indoor pool sessions, when it becomes cold outside for people to practice wet skills. They are usually once a  month during the winter, to give people the chance to practice in a warm environment.  The sessions will be at the pool at Cranleigh School & is usually split up to 3 slots for different groups of people to paddle in.
